easyJet to announce Starbucks deal
20.04.09
Luton Airport based budget airline easyJet is about to unveil a tie-up with Starbucks to offer the coffee shop’s drinks onboard its flights, TTG reports. Starbucks coffee has been on sale on United Airlines flights for more than a decade, but the easyJet deal is the first time it will be available on any other airline.
easyJet is reported to believe the deal with the premium coffee retailer will emphasise how it offers customers a better onboard experience than rival budget airlines. It also believes the deal reflects how its customer profile is more upmarket than often assumed, and its growing numbers of business passengers.
Details of the range of coffee options are yet to be announced, but it is reported that the Starbucks drinks will come in sachets, rather than being brewed onboard. Pricing is expected to be slightly lower than drinks in Starbucks’ coffee shops on land.
