easyJet - 'Europe's biggest ski airline'
13.10.07
easyJet is 'mountains above' its rivals when it comes to ski destinations, the airline claims. A spokesman said that it offers more ski flights than any other, with a huge choice of 72 routes to 21 European airports with ski slopes close by, making it easier for winter sports enthusiasts to jet off and grab a piste of the action this season. The claims come as a new study reports that Ryanair carries more wealthy travellers than British Airways.
More than 2.5 million passengers will take advantage of easyJet's low-fare flights to the slopes this winter, with prices from as little as £22.99 one way (including all), making easyJet the favourite airline for independent skiers, a spokesman said.
Geneva, Grenoble, Turin and Munich have traditionally been the favourite airports for Brits to reach the snow. But as a result of easyJet's expansion of some routes and the addition of Innsbruck, Sofia, and Zurich to its network, now winter sports enthusiasts from the UK have a greater choice of destinations from the convenience of their local airport this season.
