Thomsonfly to stop Jersey flights from Robin Hood, Bristol and Luton Airport
09.10.07
Thomsonfly has announced that it will withdraw its flights from Cardiff and Luton Airport to Jersey from 28 October, and from Robin Hood to Jersey from March, 2008. Only its Coventry - Jersey flights continue through next summer.
The airline said its new aircraft could not be used on the routes due to the 'operational limitations' at Jersey. Its new Boeing 737-800s require longer runways.
Jersey Deputy Alan Maclean, Assistant Minister for Economic Development with responsibility for Jersey Airport, said he was disappointed with the decision but optimistic that other airlines would be keen to take over the routes.
