In another sign of the problems faced by the aviation industry, easyJet is wiping up to 20 percent off the cost of every seat on every route to and from the UK throughout the peak summer months, when the airline usually makes the majority of its annual profit.
The sale period covers flights from June 17 to September 30 - including the peak the school summer holidays, August bank holiday and the busy month of September, when children have gone back to school, and childless travellers seek some late summer sun.
easyJet offers flights from more than a dozen UK airports to popular summer sun destinations including as Alicante, Ibiza, Malaga and Faro. It also offers city break flights to destinations including Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Rome and Berlin. Book at www.easyjet.com by midnight on Tuesday, June 9.
