Major diversions on Luton Airport road this weekend

There will be major road closures this weekend as one of the final stages of work between Luton Airport and the M1 is carried out. Work on the East Luton Corridor project means the Vauxhall Way roundabout will be closed from 22:00 today (Friday) until 03:00 on Monday (March 9).
Also closed over the weekend will be Kimpton Road, the A505 Airport Way from Vauxhall Way to the Eaton Green roundabout, and the old Airport Way road leading to the Holiday Inn airport hotel. Diversion routes will be signposted and include Stopsley to the M1 via Crawley Green Road, Windmill Lane and Gipsy Lane, and Stopsley to the airport via Eaton Green Road, Frank Lester Way and Percival Way.
A spokesman for Luton Borough Council said: ‘We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. The closures are essential to enable this resurfacing work to be undertaken.’
