Luton Airport raises £36,000 for hospice
05.02.10
Luton Airport has announced that it raised £36,000 for a hospice that it chose as its Charity of the Year last year. Keech Hospice Care received the donation, which was made up of an initial £10,000 pledge followed by money raised through charity fund raisers carried out by employees at the airport.
The fundraising activities included marathons, charity collections, cake baking, quiz nights, triathlons and a midnight walk. The hospice has used the money to help create a new adult in-patient unit with eight beds. The hospice will remain the chosen charity of Luton Airport for 2010.
