easyJet passengers up 2.8%

Luton Airport based budget airline easyJet carried 2.8m passengers in January 2009, an increase of 2.8% on the same month last year. The load factor also increased in the month, by 3.7 percentage points to 75.7%.
In the rolling 12-months to the end of January total passengers increased 16.2% to 44.66m from 38.42m in January 2008 (although this includes the benefit of buying GB Airways). Load factor in the 12 month period increased to 84.9% from 83.1%.
