easyJet passengers up 3.4%

easyJet has announced that it carried 3.4% more passengers in November than in the same month a year ago. The airline carried 2.99 million passengers, as its load factor rose to 83.9%, from 80.8% last year.
The improvement in load factor reflecs the removal of some lower yielding flights from its winter schedule, however the route changes also meant growth in passenger numbers was down from the rate of around 20% seen in the summer. They would have been even lower were it not for the addition of GB Airways in March.
easyJet carried 44.37 million passengers in the 12 months to November. Its load factor was up 0.8 percentage points to an average of 84.4%.
The budget airline's capacity for the winter, measured in seats flown, will be broadly flat compared to last year but at the same time it expects competitor capacity on its routes to fall by 7%.
