Flight emergency at Luton Airport

A Boeing 737 was forced to make an emergency landing at Luton Airport on wednesday after reports of smoke in the cockpit. The aircraft had taken off from Luton but had to turn around and land again.
Emergency services were called shortly after 09:00 and were on standby close to the runway, but the plane landed safely, with no signs of fire. Airport firefighters inspected the jet and other crews stood down.
