Air France moves Strasbourg flights from Gatwick to London City
21.09.07
Air France has announced that it is to strengthen its position at London City Airport, with a total of 10 destinations to be served from the Docklands hub from this winter. As part of a wider expansion in its worldwide winter 2007/08 schedule, the airline announced that its London to Strasbourg service, which previously operated out of Gatwick, will move to London City. The route will also be expanded with a third daily flight, and will be operated by partner airline Scot Airways.
The Air France network out of London City Airport launched in April 2003 and continues to expand with the addition of two new flights since 3 September: Dundee, with 4 daily flights and Edinburgh with 7 daily flights (the flights were previously operated by Scot Airways, and will now be operated by the airline as Air France CityJet's partner).
The changes come as part of a plan by Air France - KLM Group to increase its seat capacity by 5.2% compared with winter 2006/07, with a 6.2% increase on the long-haul network and 1.8% on the short and medium-haul network.
