Fog disrupts London City Airport flights again
21.02.08
Flights in and out of London City Airport were disrupted due to poor visibility yesterday - the fourth time this month that poor weather has hit flights at the Docklands hub. Many flights were delayed, with some, including Swiss flights to Zurich and Geneva, cancelled.
Speaking to Times earlier this month following similar disruptions due to fog, a spokeswoman said: ‘Because of our short runway, take-offs and landings are steep, which means the margin for error is limited.’
The delays and cancellations will disrupt the travel plans of business travellers, who favour the airport because it has the shortest check-in time of London's airport, at ten minutes. In poor weather passengers are advised to check with their airline before leaving home.
