VLM introduces internet check-in
21.02.07
VLM Airlines has launched an online check-in service as part of an upgrade to its website, allowing those with just hand luggage to go directly to security. It will also install self-service kiosks at Manchester Airport.
The online check-in service, which is aimed at business travellers carrying only hand luggage, comes as part of an upgrade to the airline's website. It can be used between 30 hours and 2 hours prior to departure and allows passengers to select their seat and print a bar-coded boarding pass. They then proceed directly to security and onwards to the departure gate when they arrive at the airport.
The service is available for all flights except those departing from Luxembourg, Brussels and Jersey, where it will be introduced by the end of the year. Self-service kiosks are also being installed at Manchester Airport that again will allow people to select seats and print off their own boarding cards.
The website upgrade has seen the look and feel of the website renewed, and improvements to the the online booking engine, making the online booking engine even more transparent and easy to use, the airline said in a statement.
VLM is the biggest airline at London City Airport, where it launched in 1993. It now offers more than 100 flights a day to 11 destinations, including Amsterdam, Brussels, the Isle of Man, Luxembourg, Manchester, Liverpool and Antwerp.
