Boris backs London City Airport flight path review
20.01.10
Boris Johnson told a public meeting last night that he backs calls for a public review of new London City Airport flight paths. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed last month that it will review the new flight paths later this year following complaints from residents in Waltham Forest about increased noise. Fears that the review could be carried out in private were addressed by Mayor of London Boris Johnson at his Environmental Question Time in Ilford, where he backed the calls for a review in public.
The CAA has said the take-off flight path is needed to cater for the increased number of planes using the airport. The previous proposals were the subject of a public consultation, with feedback the main reason the plans were withdrawn to be revised.
