New London City Airport - Berlin flights take off
17.01.08
A new route between London City Airport and Berlin-Tegel was launched this week. The new two flights a day Lufthansa service is the fifth German city now accessible from the Docklands hub.
The launch of the flights - which offer the quickest link currently available between the two cities - was celebrated in spectacular style with a burlesque show at London City Airport. Dr Karsten Benz, vice president of sales and services at Lufthansa, said that the airline had become 'even more attractive' to passengers in the UK.
He added: 'Business and the leisure travellers will now have a speedy city-to-city connection to either take advantage of Berlin's growing function as an exhibition hotspot or to just discover its cultural attractiveness.'
