BA grounds 9 planes after London City incident
16.02.09
British Airways has grounded nine aircraft for inspections following a ‘hard landing’ at London City Airport. It is conducting an investigation into all of its BAE Avro RJ100 aircraft following the incident on Friday evening.
The flight from Amsterdam, with 71 people on board, lost its front wheels when it skidded to a halt at London City. Passengers were taken off using the emergency chutes and one person was taken to hospital. The airport was closed following the incident and suffered minor delays on Saturday, but is now back to normal.
