London City Airport clean air certificate
14.08.09
London City Airport has announced that, following a comprehensive on–site survey carried out by Green Air Monitoring, it has been awarded a certificate of compliance for indoor air quality in its terminal building. The news comes after a union claimed recently that the terminal was polluted with aircraft fumes, and this was affecting the health of staff and passengers.
The airport said that Green Air Monitoring's survey showed that none of the components associated with contamination from aircraft or vehicle exhausts have affected the airport’s facility to any degree. Both nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide levels were well below the respective workplace exposure limits. The findings demonstrate that London City Airport is fully compliant with air quality limits for the workplace.
