Liberal Democrats back London City Airport flights fight
09.08.09
The Wanstead Liberal Democrat group is to back a campaign against an increase in flights from London City Airport.
Newham Council agreed to allow an extra 50,000 plane journeys from the airport last month, bringing its annual flight total to 120,000. Lib Dem activist Kate Garrett said the group would work with apolitical campaigner Fight the Flights to canvas residents in Wanstead and Leyton, and hope to organise a public meeting in the borough next month.
