Expanded London City Airport security area opened

London City Airport has expanded its security search facilities to six lanes to improve passenger processing times. The airport opened an additional two full size search lanes last month, which increased capacity by 50 percent.
Staff at the airport worked around the clock to build the new facility which was completed and operational in four weeks. To accommodate the new security search area two commercial outlets, Meridian Line and Coffee Corner, were closed. The airport also recruited and trained extra security staff and purchases new equipment.
