Liverpool Airport baggage handler strike to continue over New Year

Baggage handlers at Liverpool Airport will continue to strike in the run-up to New Year, the Daily Post reports. A spokesman for the GMB union told the newspaper it will carry on with its discontinuous industrial action during this week.
The dispute concerns plans for 28 - 35 compulsory redundancies by employer Servisair. The walk-out, for two hours each morning and afternoon on four days a week, has been carried out for over a month, with the airport insisting that it has had little or no effect on passengers or services.
