Liverpool Airport ready for busy weekend

Liverpool Airport expect one of their busiest weekends of the year. About 200,000 people will pass through the airport over the festive period, a rise of up to 10% on last December. The most popular flights are expected to be ski destinations, southern Spain and cities including Prague and Bratislava.
There will be particularly high volumes of passengers departing over the next few days, and the airport is urging people to leave plenty of time to check-in and get through security. Passengers are also being reminded that all items in hand luggage - including wrapped Christmas presents - could be searched by security officers.
