Fly Pink to launch of Liverpool Airport - Paris flights?
15.05.07
Heard about Fly Pink? Neither had we until we caught an article on utalkmarketing.com. According to the media news website, it is a start-up boutique airline designed especially for women that will launch flights between Liverpool Airport and Paris next month, with flights to New York and Milan to start later in the year. However, we can't find any details on the airline or the flight on the airport's website.
The inaugural Fly Pink flight from Liverpool Airport to Paris is set for June 4, although this is a PR launch only, with regular flights set to start in August. Sales will be driven through the website letsflypink.com, which is due to go live at the beginning of June. However, the website currently diverts to a domain registrar (there is not even a holding page) and the early June website launch seems a little late if the airline is to meet its August launch target.
According to the article, Fly Pink aims to offer a unique concept in air travel. It will specialise in 'luxurious travel at an affordable price, offering women the opportunity to take short shopping breaks to the world's fashion hotspots on a stylish, customised fleet of pink planes'. Passengers will be treated to pink champagne and free manicures in the departure lounge with complementary gourmet cuisine on board.
The airline is the brainchild of Adam Charles, a 24-year-old entrepreneur and is the result of 12-months of research into aviation trends. He said: 'We have decided to focus on one market and create a brand catering specifically for women.'
We wait with interest to see if the airline manages to take off.
