easyJet passenger becomes Liverpool Airport’s 50 millionth

A lucky easyJet flier became the 50 millionth passenger at Liverpool Airport yesterday Airport and easyJet staff presented Helen Lace, from Prescot, with a flight voucher and a bottle of champagne.
More than 31 million of the 50 million passengers have used the airport in the past 10 years, since its acquisition by Peel Holdings. easyJet has carried more than 18 million passengers since starting services here in 1997.
Neil Pakey, Peel Airports deputy chief executive, said: ‘The airport has continued to move up the league table of UK airports and has increased its passengers numbers eight-fold. Last year it won the prestigious accolade of UK Airport of the Year. Next month the airport will mark its 75th anniversary.'
