Hot in the heals of announcing its 21st base in Alicante yesterday, Ryanair has announced its 22nd European base in Valencia, with new flights from Liverpool Airport. As with its 21st base, Europe's largest will invest $140m basing two Boeing 737-800s in Valencia and launch 11 new routes that will deliver a total of 1.5m new passengers a year.
Ryanair already operates 10 routes from Valencia - to Brussels, Dublin, Dusseldorf, East Midlands, Frankfurt, Stansted, Milan, Pisa, Rome and Stockholm - so the base will launch with a total of 21 routes.
At a press conference Ryanair's CEO, Michael O'Leary, said: 'We are delighted to make Valencia its 22nd base. As the recent Americas Cup has shown, Valencia has huge tourism potential and Ryanair's new routes will guarantee the lowest fares and the most on-time flights for visitors to this region.'
'These new routes are available to book today from €10 one-way on www.ryanair.com. We advise passengers to book early as demand will be very strong.'
