Leeds Bradford Airport boss to leave
26.05.07
The managing director of Leeds Bradford Airport is to leave after a decade in charge. Ed Anderson, 56, said that he wants to spend time pursuing 'other interests', but will stay on until a successor was appointed. The move comes just a month after the airport was bought by private equity group Bridgepoint for £145.5m from its five West Yorkshire council owner.
The announcement of Mr Anderson's departure comes just a few days days after reports that the chief executive of Newcastle Airport had resigned amid claims he has been approached to run Leeds Bradford Airport. John Parkin resigned from Newcastle Airport earlier this month and the airport's owners have since launched a legal action against him, and possibly also against Bridgepoint.
However, the chairman of Leeds Bradford Airport, Sir Graham Hall, insisted that Mr Anderson's
decision had come as a surprise at a board meeting on Thursday, and that no successor had been lined up. He said Bridgepoint would be appointing headhunters to find a new managing director.
