Jet2 reports package holiday sales surge

The bad weather in the UK has had a beneficial effect on the profits of Leeds Bradford Airport based airline Jet2, as Brits flock abroad to get some sun.
Mandy Round, general manager of the airline's recently launched package holiday website Jet2holidays.com, said that sales are 'above where we anticipated this summer. Early bookings figures indicate that there will be a knock-on effect for winter as families who have holidayed in the UK look for cheap winter deals to the sun to try to make up for the lack of sunshine and dry weather here.'
She added that the airline has signed a deal with Spain's two largest hotel groups, Sol Melia and Barcel, so that holidaymakers from Leeds Bradford and Manchester can book their luxury accommodation at Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria.
