Jet2 is UK's most punctual budget airline

Jet2 has announced that it come top in a punctuality list of low cost airlines operating out of the UK last year. Figures from website flightontime.info originating at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for 2006 confirm that Jet2 beat the likes of Ryanair, easyJet and bmibaby to claim the crown of most punctual low cost airline in the UK, a spokesman said.
The low cost airline punctuality table for 2006 (showing average delay) was:
- Jet2: 12.4 minutes
- Flybe: 14.1 minutes
- Ryanair: 15.2 minutes
- bmibaby: 16.7 minutes
- Flyglobespan: 16.9 minutes
- Monarch Scheduled: 17.8 minutes
- easyJet: 18.3 minutes
The spokesman added that Jet2 was also top when looking at the percentage of flights leaving within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time. 79.4% of Jet2 flights left within 15 minutes, compared to easyJet, the worst offender, with just 65.5%.
Operating out of Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Manchester, Belfast International, Blackpool and Edinburgh, Jet2 flies to more than 35 destinations across Europe.
