01.09.07
Leeds Bradford Airport based budget airline Jet2 has marked a significant milestone in its almost five-year history by welcoming its ten millionth passenger. The airline opened a bottle of champagne for lucky passenger Nicola Cairns, who was flying from the airline's base at Belfast International Airport to Murcia. She also received four free return flights.
Philip Meeson, Chairman and Chief Executive of Jet2, said: 'I am thrilled to welcome our ten millionth passenger. This truly is a significant moment for us as an airline.'
'Since starting over four years ago, we have always strived to provide the best service at the lowest possible fares and reaching this landmark number so quickly is testament that our passengers agree.'
Since commencing operations, Jet2's bases have expanded from the initial launch airport of Leeds Bradford to Manchester, Belfast, Newcastle, Blackpool and Edinburgh. The airline flies to 28 European destinations including Amsterdam, Rome and Paris.
