16.09.08
Two people have unhurt from a private jet which was damaged during an aborted take-off at Jersey Airport yesterday at about 10:30.
The Cessna Citation II was taking off to fly to Newquay, Cornwall, but quickly landed again. It suffered from burst tyres and its undercarriage catching fire. The pilot steered the aircraft off the runway onto a taxiway.
The runway was closed for emergency services to clear it of debris, butt was later reopened. The airport said the UK's Air Accident Investigation Branch had been informed of the incident and it would submit a report.
