Passengers up 0.6% at IOM Airport
08.08.08
Passenger numbers passing through Isle of Man Airport were up slightly last month, despite higher fuel prices hitting air travel demand, and the closure of Euromanx. There had been the prediction of a decrease by the airport, 67,000 passengers went through the Airport during the month, a small increase of 0.6% over July 2007. In the year to date, numbers have increased by 3.6% when compared with the first seven months of 2007.
Airport Director Ann Reynolds said she was please with the result, and revealled that concerted efforts are being made to restore the important morning and evening return flights to London City Airport. She says the major problem is the limited availability of key landing slots at the London airport.
