Virgin consider T5 advertising compensation claim
30.04.08
Virgin Atlantic is considering asking for compensation following the problems at the opening of Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 (T5), Marketing Week reports. The airline took out extensive advertising in and around T5, the exclusive home of British Airways, targeting long haul business passengers with its rival T3 offering.
However, the airline says that BA’s decision to delay moving long-haul flights to the terminal from today until some time after June 5 means that footfall of the advert's key target group has been much lower than promised.
According to the magazine, Virgin Atlantic’s marketing team is considering asking outdoor company JC Decaux for the cost of booking the billboards to be reimbursed because not enough people are seeing them.
