No problems for Heathrow US bound passengers

Advance warnings about increased airport security meant passengers at Heathrow Airport experienced a smooth start to their journeys on Monday, PA reports. Queues for flights to the US from Terminal 3 were 'relatively short' and passengers ' appeared pleasantly surprised by the lack of complications.'

Those who had arrived early for fear of delays - which were up to 5 hours over the weekend - said that this did not appear to be necessary.
