Union slam BA over volunteer cabin crew celebration
29.09.11
British Airways has infuriated union members by throwing a party for 1,000 staff who crossed picket lines and worked as volunteer cabin crew last year, the Sun reports. The airline invited all of the volunteers to a party at its Waterside HQ near Heathrow Airport.
The 1,000 who kept BA in the skies were asked to don ‘jackets and / or cocktail dresses’ for the party, which had a live band, buffet, one free drink and ‘opportunity to meet’ BA boss Keith Williams. The party was designed to ‘mark the end of the Volunteer Cabin Crew programme’ launched last year. News of the party has infuriated union leaders.
