BA increase fuel surcharges
29.04.08
British Airways has announced that it is increasing fuel surcharges on long and short-haul flights from 2 May. The airline said the charges reflected high oil prices, which hit a record on Monday just below $120 a barrel. It increased its cargo fuel surcharge ten days ago, and we had predicted then that the passenger surcharges would soon follow.
The airline has announced that its surcharge for short-haul flights will increase to £13 per flight from £10, or to £26 for a return flight. For flights of less than 9 hours the charge will increase by £10 to £63 (each way, or £126 per return flight) and for flights of more than 9 hours by£15 to £79 (or £158 per return flight).
