Walsh confident cabin crew dispute will be resolved
28.07.10
British Airways Chief Executive Willie Walsh said yesterday he is confident the airline will resolve a dispute with its cabin crew, the Wall Street Journal reports. He told reporters in Berlin: ‘We've made a significant effort to resolve it and will continue to do so. But it's not stopping us (from) doing what we need to do to restructure the business and that's clearly been our focus over the last 20 months.’
The Unite union said it will reopen talks with British Airways via conciliation service ACAS next week after members rejected the airline's latest offer to end the long-running dispute. The union also said it would take legal action over the airline's withdrawal of travel benefits for striking cabin crew.
