Court takes soft line with drunk BA stewardess
28.04.08
A British Airways stewardess who turned up for work 10 times over the drink limit for flight crew (four times the car limit) appeared in court late last week. As a result of her actions, Lesley-Ann Graham, 44, lost her job of 25 years, forfeited her pension and lifetime perks package.
Ms Graham told the court that she was a ‘depressed’ alcoholic. She was told at Isleworth crown court she had ‘suffered enough’ for her drink-impaired ‘activity on an aircraft’ last October.
Judge Hezlett Colgan heard that she has been in the Priory, had made ‘a serious suicide attempt’ and was now living with her mother in a bid to get her life back on track. She was conditionally discharged for a year.
