Flight to Heathrow cancelled after rat spotted in overhead lockers
28.02.10
Over 200 passengers were ordered off a plane due to fly to Heathrow moments before it was due to take off after a large rat was spotted on board. The Air Canada Boeing 767 flying from Ottawa was waiting to taxi down the runway when a passenger spotted the rodent in an overhead locker.
The captain of Air Canada flight AC888 ordered all 205 passengers off the plane so a pest control team could find and catch the rat. But after an intensive 30 minute search, the rodent could not be found. The flight was cancelled and passengers spent the night at a hotel near the airport before flying yesterday.
