Heathrow celebrates Wimbledon

Passengers arriving into Heathrow from yesterday and for the next two weeks will be greeted with a bowl of strawberries and cream. As the world’s best tennis players perform at Wimbledon, BAA has laid on the treat in a bid to encourage an interest in British sport.
Usherettes dressed in tennis whites will handing out the iconic Wimbledon culinary experience to three million people over the next two weeks. A spokesman for the airport said: ‘Passengers arriving at Heathrow will be left in no doubt that Wimbledon has arrived. We hope our welcome to the UK puts a smile on their faces and leaves them as excited as we are to cheer on our tennis champions.’
