Heathrow launch noise consultation
19.06.09
Residents, schools and businesses around Heathrow are being contacted by BAA as part of a major consultation into its aircraft noise plan. The airport operator must publish a Noise Action Plan by 2010, and a 16-week consultation period was launched this week to canvass opinion on the impact of aircraft noise on surrounding areas.
BAA is writing to around residents and concerned parties to encourage them to have their say by filling in a questionnaire online or attending one of three public sessions at the airport. The consultation, which is not linked to the proposed expansion of the airport, will run until October, after which BAA will submit a draft noise action plan to the Transport Secretary.
You can take part in the consultation or for more information by going to http://www.heathrowairport.com/noise or telephoning the Heathrow community relations team on 020 8745 5791.
