The Nigerian airline Arik Air has been granted permission to begin operating flights to Heathrow Airport. In a press statement confirming the development, the airline's media officer Adebanjo Ola revealed that aviation authorities have granted the airline a slot at the London hub.
Arik will take delivery of three new Airbus A340-500 aircraft in October and the airline plans to use the planes on a new Lagos - London route, Mr Ola confirmed. He said: ‘I am happy to announce to you that we have been granted four slots at Heathrow Airport. But we are still pushing for more so that we can fly to London every day of the week.’
