Brown promises probe into Heathrow campaigners dossier claim
18.06.09
Claims that civil servants compiled dossiers on opponents of the Heathrow expansion and handing them to the police will be probed, Gordon Brown said yesterday in Parliament.
During Prime Minister's question time Mr Brown said he was not aware of allegations that Department for Transport staff were gathering data on objectors to the third runway, but told MPs they ‘will of course be investigated’. He was responding to questions from Tory whip John Randall (Uxbridge) - who asked if there was a dossier on him - and Labour's John McDonnell, whose Hayes and Harlington constituency includes Heathrow and is also an anti-expansion campaigner.
