Passengers support full body scanners
15.01.10
Full-body scanners will be welcomed by many travellers, a new survey has revealed. They are already being used at Manchester Airport, will be rolled out at Heathrow Airport as soon as is practical, and the machines are supported by two-thirds of airline passengers, according to a poll carried out by Skyscanner.
Of those who took part in the research, 66 percent said they believed security would be improved by the introduction of the scanners in airports and that they would be a ‘good idea’. However, 30 percent said they disapproved of the machines due to privacy reasons.
A spokesman for the flights search company said: ‘As long as the machines are safe and any potential privacy issues can be solved, travellers are in favour of anything which will make flying safer and security checks faster.'
