Heathrow cleanliness recognised

It might surprise many readers that Heathrow, often described as 'shabby', was recognised at the 14th Conde Nast Travel Awards for its cleanliness. Terminal 5 was named the third best airport terminal in the world by readers, and singled out for being the cleanest airport in the world.
A BAA spokesperson said: ‘It is great news that Heathrow Terminal 5 has been recognised by Conde Nast readers for being one of the best terminals in the world. The award is a credit to the thousands of staff that work hard to make every journey better for our customers.’
Heathrow based airline BA also came first in two categories; short haul leisure and business, while Virgin Atlantic was named the best for long-haul travel, with BA second in the long haul leisure category.
