Moodie to publish airport websites index
13.07.08
The Moodie Report has announced a major new project relating to airport websites – including all aeronautical and non-aeronautical activities. Next week the information company will launch The Moodie 100 Airport Web Index, a detailed fortnightly analysis that will focus on two airport websites from differing regions.
Each airport will be assessed under a rigorous 100 point system (The Moodie 100 Index), based on a series of criteria relating to consumer usage of the sites. In the first pairing, Dubai International Airport will be matched up against Hong Kong International Airport. Next Singapore Changi will be paired up against Heathrow, Vancouver International against Sydney Airport and so on.
The Moodie Report Research & Analysis team is mounting the most comprehensive analysis to date of how airports are embracing the Internet, both in terms of aeronautical and non-aeronautical activities. The latter are generally badly under-developed in web terms, as shown in an earlier study conducted by The Moodie Report in 2006.
The full research study will be published in February 2009, when The Moodie Report will host the first-ever Moodie 100 Airport Website Index Conference and Awards. The dates and venue for the event are currently being finalised and will be announced later this month.
