Nats says no flight growth in June
12.07.08
Air traffic control company NATS said the number of flights it handled in June was level with last year, rising by just four (flights, not percent) to 224,375.
The air traffic service provider said growth was seen at the Scottish and Oceanic Centres at Prestwick, where traffic increased by 7.4% and 3.1% respectively. Transatlantic overflights achieved strong growth of 11.1%, offsetting static figures in other centres and at airports where NATS provides a service.
Of the airports where NATS offers a service, Bristol showed the biggest increase in en-route traffic with 8.6%, followed by Belfast International at 8.2% and London City at 5.7%.
