The Hilton Heathrow Airport hotel has appointed Christopher Jefferson as its new executive chef. Mr Jefferson trained in Durham before leaving the north east in 2001 to join the team at the Dorchester hotel where he worked for three years under Henry Brosi. He has since travelled all over the world, developing a knowledge of worldwide cuisines including Italian, Thai, Japanese and South American styles of cooking. Living in Brazil for a year, his claim to fame is for making the world's biggest Battenberg cake! He said: ‘I'm really looking forward to my new role at Hilton Heathrow and injecting some of my creativity into Aromi restaurant. It is a great opportunity to build on an already successful airport hotel and continue my culinary journey. I am excited to meet new guests and ensure that they have the ultimate gastronomic experience when they visit.’
