BA Cargo arm increase fuel surcharge again

British Airways World Cargo has announced that it will increase its fuel surcharge by $1.30, effective July 17, 2008. It is the second increase in two weeks, the the surcharge only increased earlier this month.
The freight company said that the fuel surcharge increase follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been above the level 26 threshold. The index was developed by British Airways World Cargo to provide customers with information about the calculation of fuel surcharges.
A spokesman said: ‘As fuel prices have continued to climb, it is necessary for us to increase our fuel surcharge, in line with the index.’
