Heathrow bridge death

05.07.08

A Feltham man who died after falling from a bridge at Heathrow Airport last weekend has been named. Michael Joseph, 21, of Butts Farm Estate, Hanworth worked as a barman at a pub close to the scene of his fall at East Ramp, off the A4 Bath Road.

Last Saturday night he was seen walking along the railings of the bridge above the tunnels that lead to the Terminal buildings. He fell 50ft to the road below where he was hit by a taxi that finished up on top of him.

Firefighters used air bags to lift the cab and he was rushed to Charing Cross Hospital where he remained in a critical condition with massive head injuries until doctors turned off his life support system yesterday.

Police are keeping an open mind about the incident. They wish to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has further information.
