Virgin Atlantic is to begin flights from London to Ghana in West Africa, it has announced. Subject to Government approval, Virgin will begin a 3-times-a-week operation between Heathrow Airport and the Ghanaian capital of Accra on May 24.
The carrier will use a 240-seat Airbus A340 plane on the route, which will be Virgin's fifth to Africa. Virgin Atlantic chief executive Steve Ridgway said: 'We're delighted that to be in a position to launch flights to this growing and vibrant capital city with its historic links to the UK, thriving economy and developing oil and gas industry.'
