BA overtakes Virgin as Heathrow’s best airport lounge

British Airways has overtaken Virgin to have the best Heathrow Airport lounge, according to aviation services review website Skytrax. BA's Galleries Lounges at Heathrow Terminal 5 were named the World's Best Business Class Airline Lounge at the 2011 Skytrax World Airline Awards. Virgin Atlantic's Heathrow Lounge came second, with Cathay Pacific's Hong Kong Airport lounges completing the top three.
The awards are voted for by over 18.8 million airline passengers from 100 different countries. Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said: ‘Our congratulations go to British Airways for their achievement in winning the World's Best Business Class Lounge. Having been dominated by BA rival Virgin for the last two years, passengers clearly feel that BA are exceeding the standards of their competitors for this aspect of ground handling service.’
