BA returns to Saudi Arabia
02.06.09
British Airways relaunched flights to Saudi Arabia at the weekend, following a break of four years. The airline’s first flights to the capital, Riyadh, and the city of Jeddah touched down on Sunday. BA will be operating five weekly services to both cities using Boeing 777s with a four cabin configuration.
BA withdrew its Saudi Arabia flights in 2005 amid security concerns. Paolo De Renzis, British Airways’ area commercial manager for the Middle East, said: ‘We have never taken our eyes off Saudi Arabia and after years of review and months of careful planning, we’re back operating direct services to Saudi’s two principal aviation hubs.’
